That Perfect Summer Tshirt Dress

There are plenty of days where I’m all about the florals, off or cold shoulders or any kind of pattern or style to make a dress stand out and make me feel cute and girly when I’m meeting a friend for brunch or running errands. Other days, I just want to throw on a simple tshirt dress and a pair of Keds and head out the door. This post is about those days – the days that are all about comfort.

I picked up this gray dress from Vici a few weeks ago and have worn it several times on days when I was just not in the mood to think hard about what I was going to wear. I’ve paired it up with simple sandals, Keds and flats. I am currently only 3 weeks away from moving and have been majorly downsizing my closet so a lot of looks are getting recycled. For this look, I decided to go with my white Keds as I love wearing casual dresses with white Keds/sneakers on days that involve a lot of walking. My dress has since sold out but I’ve found an identical (and more affordable) version at Forever 21 that you can find here. I’ve also found a more loose fitting version if you’re more into that look from Lulu’s that can be found here. If you’re really looking for comfort and want something that is ultra soft that will provide you with the same style, look no further than this marled Gap version of this dress here. Speaking of Gap tshirt dresses, I recently picked up an olive V-neck dress at a Gap outlet and if you have one close by, I would recommend hunting it down as it’s also ultra comfortable and is a great transition piece for summer to fall so look out for this one with some layers, tights and booties in the future.

I paired up my gray Vici dress with a plaid button down that I tied around my waist for a more 90’s look as well. I am also a big fan of tying these types of shirts on my cross body when walking around. Anyone else always have to carry a long sleeved top with them in the summer when they go out to counter cranked up air conditioning? No? Just me?

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed this post and can hopefully get some ideas for similar tshirt dresses for comfy days. I was happy to have a change of scenery for these pictures thanks to a trip to Chicago this weekend so a little suburb on the north side of the city was my setting for this shoot. Hope everyone’s week is off to a great start! Happy Monday!
