December Favorites

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great time celebrating on New Year’s Eve and is excited for a brand new year full of new opportunities, new adventures and new memories. I am always looking forward to the beginning of the year to come up with new resolutions and new plans.

My 2018 started with a major apartment clean out and cleanse. Russians like to say that if you start your new year with a clean home, your year will be “free of clutter” in both literal and figurative ways for the following year so I like to follow that concept.

December was a pretty busy month for me with a New York trip, finishing up shopping for Christmas and New Years, decorating the apartment for the first time and working. Even with all that going on, I managed to come up with a pretty great set of favorites and I am excited to share them with you all today. All the favorites today are in the beauty category so beauty lovers, rejoice.

Let’s get into it.

Tory Burch “Bel Azul” – This perfume was sent to me in the November Sephora Play! box and I have not stopped wearing it ever since. This is for those of you who are fans of fresh citrus like scents. The main note in this perfume is mandarin so my obsession makes sense since my diet in December is essentially made of mandarin oranges. I mean, you know that if you eat one of those in public, there will always be someone that makes a comment about how good they smell.

Glow Recipe “Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask” – This mask was all over the internet for months and ended up making its way on my Christmas list. If you’re into K Beauty and into skincare, you should definitely consider getting this mask. It is made with watermelon extract and hyaluronic acid and evens tone, hydrates, and smoothens skin overnight. The consistency was definitely a lot different than I was expecting in the way that it was a lot runnier than most sleeping masks I’ve ever used. It almost reminds me of a face oil but I love face oils so I was a-okay with that. The packaging is ultra adorable and the product smells amazing.

Morphe Eyelash Definer – This is one of those tools that once you buy it, you wonder why you didn’t already own it. This metal lash separator is great for those days that mascara is just not cooperating and your lashes keep clumping. This does a great job separating the lashes without taking away the initial effect that the mascara created and is super easy to use. It’s also $3 so can’t beat that either.

Essie “Eternal Optimist” – I saw this nail polish on Pinterest and immediately went to buy it since I don’t own any other color like it. It’s a mix between a muted coral and a nude and looks great on any skin tone. If you’re looking for neutrals that are a little less typical, I’d look into this one.

Sephora Ultra Shine Lip Gel “04 Perfect Nude” – I’ve never worn a more comfortable gloss, ever. This isn’t sticky at all, stays on for way longer than any other lip gloss I own and this color stays true to its name because it is a perfect nude. Also, since this is Sephora brand, you know it won’t break the bank as the full size retails for $12.

Winky Lux “Kitten Palette” – This palette was sent to me in my BoxyCharm last month and I think I was one of many that was pleasantly surprised by it. The pigmentation of the shadows is great and some of the colors are very unique. There is a duochrome silvery pink shadow that I didn’t think I’d get much use of until I realized it makes a perfect all over “pop” shade for a smokey eye. There is also a deep tone blue-green shade that when used as a crease color in a golden smokey eye, looks stunning. The top pink and beige shade won’t get any use from me at all but all the others get plenty of wear. I definitely think it’s worth the $25.

That’s all I have for my December favorites. As I mentioned, an all beauty month but I don’t think any of you will have a problem with that. I’m looking forward to trying more products next month and sharing them with you guys. As always, thank you for reading and don’t forget to follow me on InstagramPinterest and like my Facebook page!

  1. I love Essie polishes (their colors are divine) but I can’t get past the brush, I tend to have ALL the trouble when the brush is thinner…it’s probably a user error. lol. Also, that eyeshadow palette is gorg! Thanks for sharing! xo
