February Favorites

After an amazing two week honeymoon and a break from the blog – I’m back! A few announcements before we get into this post – I am going back to the every 3 days posting schedule instead of every other day. Posts will be going live at 8 am EST every 3 days starting today, March 1st so something to keep in mind! I feel like the quality of my posts decreased when I was posting every other day and with my job and very busy lifestyle, I figured I need more time so giving myself an extra day for each post made more sense. Also, some feedback from you guys – do you like knowing what the next post is going to be as a little preview or would you rather it just be a surprise each time? Please let me know in the comments! There’s a lot of exciting posts coming in the future and I can’t wait to share new outfits, make up and travel tips and other content with you!

I’m happy my first post back is my February Favorites because I absolutely love writing about my favorite products/things for the month. Obviously, my honeymoon was the biggest “favorite” but a lot of other things made the list so let’s jump right in!

The Body Shop “Seaweed Cleanser” – I absolutely love trying out new cleansers because I am pretty hardcore about my skincare routine and cleansing is how every skincare routine starts. I like to alternate cleansers and usually have two that I’m going back and forth on and this was my most recent purchase. This does a great job taking off make up and leaving your skin feeling very clean. It smells nice, not too overbearing and the consistency is a bit thicker than what I’m used to for a cleanser but I don’t mind that at all. I can tell the tube will last me quite a while so I definitely recommend checking this one out.

The Body Shop “Vitamin E Cream” – While we’re talking about The Body Shop, might as well mention another product. I did some research before leaving for vacation about taking care of your skin post sun exposure and one thing I kept seeing everywhere was Vitamin E. Apparently, it does a great job reducing redness and protecting your skin post sun exposure or sunburn, is very hydrating and great for your skin overall. This product was mentioned in one of the articles I read so I decided to try it out. Fast forward three weeks later and I am obsessed with this stuff. My skin did not peel at all and any time I put this on after sun exposure (and the few occasions when I did get sunburned this took care of my skin). I also used this on the plane to maintain hydration since the air on airplanes is so drying and my skin still looked great even after a 13 hour flight. This product gets an A+ from me.

Becca “Undereye Brightening Corrector” – I received this product complimentary via Influenster along with the other products in the new undereye line and this was by far the stand out product for me. I brought this one along on my honeymoon as well as wore it underneath my tinted moisturizer. This does a great job doing exactly what it says it does – brightening the undereye area. If you struggle with dark circles, this would be a great product for you. I typically put it on right before putting on any kind of primer or foundation and have concealer go on top.

Stila “Stay All Day Waterproof Eyeliner” – I am such a die hard fan of the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner that I pretty much refused to try out any other kind of eyeliners until several of my friends told me I have to try out the Stila liner and I’m very glad they did. This is definitely not as easy to apply as the Tattoo Liner but it is more matte and has longer staying power, imo. I wish the price point was a lot different than Kat Von D’s but unfortunately, it costs even more.

Mario Badescu “Drying Lotion” – This is a product with a cult following that I’ve known about for years and have tried before but for whatever reason didn’t currently own so I decided to buy it again. I forgot just how magical this stuff is. For those who haven’t heard of this product or don’t know how it works – it’s a drying lotion that separates into two sections – the actual drying ingredient sits on the bottom and the oil sits above. The way you use this is you stick a cotton swab through both layers (do not shake this up – you don’t want the two layers to mix) and then put the product at the end of the cotton swab to a pimple that is either already out or best, one that you can tell is coming on but hasn’t fully “brewed” yet and sleep with the product on overnight. You’ll wake up in the morning and that pimple (most of the time) magically disappears. Can’t say enough good things about this stuff.

It Cosmetics “Universal Eyebrow Pencil” – This is an eyebrow pencil that I’ve also owned in the past but for some reason forgot about until BoxyCharm featured it in their last box and made me realize again just how great this product is. So, this only comes in one color, which is why it’s referred to as the universal pencil but it perfectly works for me and anyone else I’ve ever seen use it so that statement still stands. It has a spoolie on the end which is always helpful and the product itself is easy to apply and stays on all day.

Miscellaneous Favorites

For those into Indie type dance songs (with the coolest music video, ever), definitely check out the song Come by Jain. Super catchy and the video is amazing. It’s from a few years back so I might be super late on this too but everyone I’ve shown so far hasn’t heard of it but loved it.

Well, that wraps it up for my February favorites! Obviously, as I mentioned earlier, the honeymoon was by far my biggest favorite of the month so I’ll leave you guys with a picture from the best two weeks ever 😊 Please let me know about the sneak peaks/coming soon question from the intro and happy spring everyone! As always, thank you for reading and don’t forget to follow me on InstagramPinterest and like my Facebook page!

  2. glad to hear you had an amazing honeymoon! I have that becca undereye corrector & I’ve always been torn about it. I don’t love how tacky it is & the smell is a bit overpowering, but it does look nice on 🙂
