June Favorites

How are we already done with one month of summer? With this being my first full summer of just working and no more studying and no more school, summertime still feels so much better. No wonder it’s flying by.

With July being here now, I’m anticipating a lot of new favorite products (at least I’m hopeful) because my husband officially started his residency which means I am about to gain a whole lot of me-time which for me usually means trying out new skincare, searching online for new places to shop and other things that are pretty good for the blog, not so good for my wallet.

This month was a good one for beauty products. I have a new holy grail top coat, a new favorite lipgloss and a few other goodies that I can’t wait to share with you. So let’s get into it…

Beauty Favorites

Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder – I picked this up during my Amazon beauty haul only to discover that this brand is actually sold at many other places, including Walgreens. Oops. Not so exclusive to Amazon I guess. I also got the new Hourglass Translucent powder that everyone is raving about and I can honestly say, the effect from these powders is about equal for me and this powder literally costs 1/6 of the price of the Hourglass one. So if you’ve been looking to get the Hourglass one, save yourself some money and pick up this powder instead.

Lime Crime “Wet Cherry” lip gloss – This is hands down, my new favorite lip gloss. One, it is super pigmented and has great staying power. Two, it smells amazing. Three, the color (Naked Cherry) is literally the most perfect combination of pink and nude ever and I will probably keep buying this over and over again because I don’t think anything will replace this.

Essie Speed Setter – This is my new favorite top coat. It dries in seconds and doesn’t chip for days. Literally, the only things you need in a top coat. Highly recommend picking this up before your next at home mani.

TonyMoly Green Tea Watery Cream – This moisturizer starts out as a cream but as soon as you start rubbing it in turns into a super runny consistency that leaves your face feeling super hydrated. I love this  stuff. It’s perfect for summer as it doesn’t feel too thick or overmoisturizing.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum – I’ve been using this all month and I am so in love with the consistency of this serum. It comes out as a gel “bubble” and leaves your skin feeling super hydrated and refreshed. Perfect for priming your face for foundation. Love this stuff.

Milk Watermelon Brightening serum – Another serum. I was a little disappointed that this didn’t smell like watermelon at all but the brightening effect on the skin is so great that it’s still way worth it. I do like that this comes in a stick since that makes it super travel friendly and I love the bright color. This leaves a cooling effect on your skin as well which is perfect for hot summer days.

Miscellaneous Favorites

Dragonfruit Mango Refresher from Starbucks – I have to mention this drink. I am in love. This doesn’t have that many calories in it but is still sweet and tastes amazing! Definitely perfect for summer! If you haven’t tried this drink, head to your local Starbucks (and we all know there’s plenty within just a few miles radius).

Movies – I can’t say I had actual movie favorites this month but since I always tell you guys what we saw with out Movie Pass, I feel like I still have to mention it. This month we only saw two movies – Ocean’s 8 and The Incredibles. Both were good movies but didn’t blow me away. I think I had pretty high expectations for both which usually doesn’t help.

That’s all I have for June Favorites! Let me know what you guys were into this month and what I should check out! As always, thanks for reading!
