Pinafores remind me of my childhood, which is why when they started popping up in stores, I was all about it. At first I had trouble finding the right layering top for the pinafore but I have come to the conclusion that as long as the neck of the top goes higher than the cut off point of the pinafore, it will look good. To try to add some more diversity to the look than solid colors, I chose a top with stripes to wear underneath. I absolutely love stripes and they are going to show up in a lot of my outfit choices in the future – you’ve been warned.

I wore this look out in Toronto and for a nice sunny day, it was the perfect dress to wear with some comfy shoes to explore the city.
