Fall Transition : Collared Edition

While Cincinnati weather is yet to catch up with the whole fall weather concept, it is nonetheless time to start diving into fall fashion. Fall is my favorite time of year when it comes to fashion and I know I am not the only one! I love all the sweaters, leather jackets and booties that come out every year, but what I am most excited for are the new trends.

This fall already seems to be filled with cold shoulder and distressed sweaters, corsets and suede. While I am a fan of all of those things, I decided to focus on my personal favorite fall accessory – the collar. I am a huge fan of collared shirts and dresses and am even a bigger fan of layering to make that look happen. If you missed my Pop Your CollarPop Your Collar post last year, I recommend checking it out.

In today’s outfit, I am wearing this top from Macy’s from the brand Maison Jules. The top is currently on sale and I highly recommend snagging it now. It is ultra comfortable – the material on top is super soft and the chiffon on the bottom fits nicely while providing some room. The top is also available in a navy blue lace version that is super cute as well. If you’re not looking for sleeveless tops right now, their version of a black peplum collar shirt is also available. I paired up the top with black zip pocket skinnies that are from Vici Collection. My exact pair isn’t available anymore but I found identical versions at Nordstrom and at the Gap if you’re looking for something more affordable.

Now let’s talk pink pom pom shoes. I’ve been eyeing these Steve Madden Emily faux fur slip ons for months but never ended up taking the plunge and ordering them. Then, the other day, while browsing my local TjMaxx, I stumbled upon them. So, I’m going to go ahead and just say it was fate and I was meant to have these shoes. Bad news first – these are no longer available in pink, no matter where I look. The good news, however, are that these are still available in black and grey. I would still recommend checking out TjMaxx for the pink ones. Who knows, your local one may have them.

Let me know what you thought of this outfit and what your favorite fall fashion pieces are! As always, thanks for reading!
