A Need for Tweed

I don’t know about you guys, but I definitely used to associate tweed with Sherlock Holmes’ era male hats and suits. I did not think much of it entering the women’s fashion world until recently when I started seeing tweed “boyfriend” blazers and coats at many retailers. I think it takes a little extra effort to pull off a look with a tweed piece. The layering needs to be well thought out.

The piece that inspired today’s look is this tweed blazer with what I call “Mozart” sleeves, from SheIn that they were kind enough to send me. I was immediately drawn to this piece because of the pearl buttons, the unique sleeves and because I’ve never owned anything in this material before. I envisioned the look pretty much right away. I knew I wanted to pair it up with a white chiffon blouse but also with flared jeans to make it a more casual look and less work-inspired.

If you’re looking to add more tweed into your life, I recommend looking into this adorable tweed skirt, this coat that would be perfect for spring or this dress that would look great with OTK boots.

What are your thoughts on tweed? Are you into the trend or do you think it’s too hard to pull off? Let me know! I love reading your comments! As always, thank you for reading and don’t forget to follow me on InstagramPinterest and like my Facebook page!
