My Top 5 Eyeshadow Palettes

Happy Monday, friends! Hopefully, most of you are looking at a 3 day weekend with Memorial Day coming up. I get to work all weekend but have a few days off in the middle of the week so can’t complain!

I am back with my Top 5 monthly series today. I was going to write about beauty sponges, but based on a poll I did on my stories a few weeks back, you guys voted for eyeshadow palettes instead so that’s exactly what we’ll be talking about today.

Eyeshadow palettes are always a great thing to have. There’s a variety of colors, you usually get a way better deal per shadow and sometimes, you get to put yourself out of your comfort zone with them, to try new colors that you don’t usually reach for. I own probably 10 eyeshadow palettes and today, I’ve narrowed it down to my favorite 5. I’ve given away quite a few palettes in the last few months so out of the 10 that stayed, the five we’ll be talking about today are my ultimate favorites. I will be listing these in the order of most affordable to most pricey.

Make Up Revolution Iconic 2 – If you’re looking for one palette for all of your needs, whether it’s a cool tone smokey eye or a warm one, look no further. This palette is super affordable and has a great variety of shadows. The pigmentation on these will also make you surprised at the price. It is currently available online only but you can’t beat the price of this one as it’s only $12 which breaks down to less than $1/shadow.

Winky Lux Shadow Kitten – This one is honestly surprising even to me. When I first got this palette, I didn’t think that much of it, but it quickly became one of my favorites. A lot of the colors made me step out of my comfort zone and are now some of the shades I go for the most. The reds/burgundies and the shimmers are amazing. There are multiple duochrome shadows and the quality on those is pretty bomb. This one is is $25 for 9 shadows and is sold  online only at Ulta.

Pur Cosmetics Soiree Diaries – This was my first palette from Boxycharm and is one of the palettes I use most on day to day basis. This creates beautiful daytime looks and can also create some pretty great smokey eyes for going out. I use the mattes all the time for transition shades with any look and the shimmers are great once you spray some Fix + on your brush. You can get this either from Pur’s website or Kohl’s has this as well. I will say, it is currently out of stock on the website but you can have them notify you via email when it’s back in stock. This one is $34 for 12 shadows.

Lorac Unzipped – If I had to pick one true favorite palette of these five, this would be it. The pigmention of the colors is unreal and the shimmers are so stunning. I do wish there was a black shadow in this one but that’s literally the only negative. This eyeshadow palette really turned me towards Lorac Cosmetics in general because I was so impressed. This has the perfect range of warm shadow tones and can create several looks such as a gold-bronze smokey eye and a beautiful rose gold smokey eye. This one is $42 for 10 shadows which breaks down to $4.20/shadow. Highly, highly, recommend this palette.

Urban Decay Naked 2 – This will probably always be in my arsenal because this was my first true high end palette and I cherished it so much when I first got it. I still love this palette and it still is the one I use for my go to look. It has amazing mattes and shimmers and lasts so long. It’s almost all cool tones and has a big variety of silver/taupe shadows which are my personal favorites. There are some gold tones as well if you’re more into that. This one is the priciest of the 5, coming in at $54 for 12 shadows.

That’s all I have for you guys, for my favorite eyeshadow palettes. I may do one for contour/blush palettes as well in the near future so look out for that! Hope everyone has a wonderful week ahead! As always, thank you for reading! 😊

    1. Boxycharm has been sending some great palettes lately! And yes, the Winky Lux one is so good! I tend to stay away from it for every day look but I love it for a night out
