Plaid has always been a favorite of mine so, I was happy to start seeing it venture away from button down tops/flannels to pants, dresses and now even coats. There’s something about finding that perfect combination of colors on a plaid piece of clothing that gives me joy. I especially have always been a fan of black and white plaid pieces.

I do not need any more outerwear in my collection because I already picked up two oversized peacoats this year but when I saw this black and white plaid, pearl embellished, distressed coat (is that descriptive enough?), I just had to add one more to my collection. This is perfect layering piece for nice dresses in the winter for events like weddings, cocktail night ensembles, etc.

The other great part about this coat is that it doesn’t break the bank so you don’t have to feel bad about only wearing it on special occasions. I will say, the coat does not button and is worn more like an open jacket so if you’re looking for something on a frigid winter day, you might want to wear something warmer. But, if you have a scarf that you can use to cover up with, this jacket is definitely warm enough to keep in mind.
