When the temperature rises, I start paying more attention to not just the type of clothing I’m wearing but the material as well. This is where my obsession with linen comes in. Linen for the end of spring and summer is my go-to as it is so breathable and is so light on the skin. White linen pants make me think of walking around the street of Nice, Amalfi or some other coastal Mediterranean town so you’ll catch me in those a lot during the summer ( even though I am very far away from all the aforementioned cities and away from any big body of water).
In this business casual outfit-of-the-day that can be worn to work, brunch, school, wherever you need to be while staying comfortable yet looking chic and professional at the same time, I paired up my favorite “faux” dress pant leggings, a yellow scalloped top and a linen blazer. While my linen blazer has been in my closet for over 5 years and is no longer available, I was able to find similar pieces online and those will all be linked below. I finished the look off with some snakeskin flats which I like to use as a pattern addition to an otherwise solid colored look and frequently pair these up as a “neutral” to many looks.
Let’s start dissecting the look – my yellow scalloped top is available online from SheIn and you can find it here. As everything from SheIn, this top is super affordable and has a super cute back (which you can see in the pictures on the website). I think scallops look the best on either white clothing or really bright colors (in this case, yellow) so this top is a great addition to any closet as a pop of color. While my exact linen blazer is no longer being sold, I found several very similar ones online. You can find one almost exactly like mine from here (if you’re a Zulily member), another very similar one from here and a cropped version from ASOS here.
Now let’s talk about my leggings. These are my new go-to work “pants” as I’ve pretty much alternated between the ones seen in my pictures today and the same ones in black that I’ve picked up from H&M. These leggings look like dress pants and can be worn to work while still being super comfy and having a waistband/top section that completely sucks in everything for you acting as Spanx that don’t make it hard to breathe. I am absolutely obsessed with these leggings and have recommended them to almost everyone I know (especially people at work). You can find these leggings either in your local H&M (a few weeks ago they were on sale for $10!) or online here. They’re available in 3 colors on the website and 5 colors in stores (not sure what that’s about).
Let me know what your favorite pieces are to wear in the spring and summer! As always, thanks for reading 🙂
