Back with my top 5! This time we are talking red nail polish. I figured top 5 nail polishes in general is way too broad and would be way too hard for me to choose so I decided to go with the color most appropriate for the holidays – red!

If I had to choose one color nail polish to wear for the rest of my life, I wouldn’t even hesitate before choosing red. It’s a classic, it looks great no matter how long or what shape your nails are and there are many shades to choose from. Over the years, I’ve collected many different types that can be used for many occasions. So let’s get into them…

Best Dark Red

Essie “Bordeaux” – This one has been in my arsenal for the longest time out of all the nail polishes I’ll be talking about today. This is a great dark red and depending on how many coats you put on, you can build the color to be what you want it to be. I love the Essie formula and brush – it’s probably my favorite of the big brands. I typically do two coats of this one and depending on the lighting, this can look super vampy or pretty bright.

Best Blue Red

OPI “Got the Blues for Red” – The name speaks for itself. This one is a red with a blue undertone and is probably my favorite color of the 5. It looks absolutely beautiful in the fall and winter and is my go-to color for special occasions. OPI is also one of my favorite formulas and never disappoints.

Best True Red

Essie Gel Couture “Bubbles Only” – This one is the perfect red shade in general. It is a true red and the Essie Gel Couture line is one of my favorites. It definitely gives you the gel effect without the UV light or the extra steps. I recommend that line in general, not just this color.  It lasts for days without chipping and the finish is super glossy.

Best Bright Red

Ulta3 “Sizzling Red” – This one was a brand not known to me before receiving it in an Ipsy bag. The color is that bright red that you look for in a red lipstick and the formula is very long lasting. I love pairing up red nail polish with red lipstick and if I’m going to do that, this color is the one I’d choose.

Best Orange Red

KL Polish “Magic City” – This is the perfect red nail polish for summer. This looks amazing as a pedicure on tan feet and was definitely a color I reached for pretty frequently this summer. The KL polishes are very long lasting and this one is one of my favorites from the brand.
