January Favorites

January is always a month I anticipate because of my birthday and this year, turning 26, my birthday started the year off on a good note. This month has been full of honeymoon prep, work, and closet clean outs. It was also a busy month for the blog with a post going live almost every other day. My goal is to keep that up for the rest of the year and to bring you guys some great content.

The favorites round up is my favorite post to write every month. I always keep a list of products and things that I’m loving and it’s always interesting to see how many of those products get crossed off the list by the end of the month – you know, the ones that started out strong but then couldn’t keep up. Today, I’ll be sharing the ones that stayed in the favorites list all month long.

Beauty Favorites

First Aid Beauty Eye Duty Triple Remedy AM Gel Cream – Getting older means adding eye creams, wrinkle serums, anti-aging products and other similar items to your beauty routine. I know a lot of people are rolling their eyes at me about this whole “being old” thing at 26, but I’m starting to notice wrinkles and a gray hair makes an appearance here and there so I’m all about this whole anti-aging thing right now. Back to the product – I am in love with this eye cream. It comes in gel form but I would say it’s a mixture of a gel and a cream. It is ultra hydrating, helps diminish fine lines and wrinkles and is meant for morning use. If you’re looking for a new eye cream, look no further.

Kopari Coconut Lip Glossy – Now a lip gloss/lip oil combination that was a completely random find during a trip to Sephora but I have probably used this every day since I’ve bought it. This is ultra hydrating for your lips and is perfect for this time of year. It also smells divine which makes you want to use it even more.

Trust Fund Beauty Lip Scrub – Another lip product. This one is a lip scrub that has an oil base as well that ends up hydrating your lips on top of exfoliating. I got this in my January Ipsy bag and it was by far one of the best products sent to me in a subscription box in a while. I use this about two or three times a week. This is the perfect scrub if you’re a liquid lipstick wearer since it’ll exfoliate and prep your lips but also hydrate.

NYX Vivid Brights in Vivid Sapphire – I’ve been looking for a good bright blue liquid liner and finally found it. This doesn’t get as much wear as I’d like it to since, you know, most people would prefer their pharmacist not to be wearing bright blue eyeliner but on my off days, I’ve definitely been reaching for this eyeliner. I love having a blue winged liner on top of a gray or silver smokey eye. This is also super affordable since it’s by NYX and the quality is great.

Miscellaneous Favorites

Movie Pass – If you follow me on Instagram, you already know that my husband and I are obsessed with our Movie Pass subscription. For those who don’t know what it is – you pay $9.99/month/person and get access to pretty much any movie theater that partners with Movie Pass (and in Cincinnati, that’s a good 10 or so theaters) and can see up to one movie a day. Considering most movie tickets are now more than that monthly rate, even if you see one movie a month, Movie Pass is worth it. We ended up seeing 4 movies last month (Ladybird, The Greatest Showman, I,Tonya and The Post) so we definitely got our money’s worth. We love movies and haven’t really been going a whole lot in the recent years because of how expensive it got so having the ability to go back as much as we want has been so great. I am still considering having my first experience of seeing a movie by myself here in the next few weeks which will be an accomplishment for me because I’ve always been scared of doing that.

Wedding Highlight Video  – We got our wedding highlight back this month and I’ve probably watched it 100 times already so I thought I’d share it since it’s a pretty great depiction of the best day of my life 😊

Anyway, I hope you guys had a great month and are ready for February to be even better! I am going on my honeymoon this month so to say this one has been long anticipated would be an understatement. If you want to read more about our honeymoon planning, check out my last post here. As always, thank you for reading and don’t forget to follow me on InstagramPinterest and like my Facebook page!
