March Favorites and Q+A Announcement!

April is here, which means we are just that much closer to summer and that is always exciting. March was a a pretty major month for my husband and I as we found out where he matched for residency, decided on where we will live for the following year, and went on a mini trip. With all that going on, I didn’t have as much time to try new products but as always, I have plenty of favorites to share with you guys.

Before we get into the favorites, I have a favor to ask you guys. I will be doing a Life Update and Q&A Post in the next few weeks as I feel like it’s time to tell you guys a little more about me since, you know, I’m about two years into this whole blogging thing. So… with all that in mind, please, comment some questions you want me to answer for you in the Q&A! Ask me anything – about my life, work, blog, inspo, anything is on the table!

Now let’s get into these favorites…

Beauty Favorites

Reel Perfection Oval Make Up Brush Set – I’ve been watching people use oval brushes for what feels like forever now but didn’t think to try them out until I saw this super affordable set from Amazon that featured 5 brushes and had amazing reviews. I mean, for $10, you can’t really complain. While I only think I’m going to continue using two of those brushes, I still think it’s worth buying because those two brushes are the bomb. The two I use are the two biggest brushes in the set and I use one for applying foundation and the other for contouring. This takes foundation blending to almost no time and you end up with flawless results. I definitely recommend checking these out.

Dr.Brandt MagneTIGHT Age Defier Mask – Those that follow me on Instagram and watch my stories got to see me try out this mask for the first time. I was impressed right from the get go. This mask is applied on a clean face, and after 10-15 mintues of letting it do its magic on your skin, you take the provided magnet, wrap it in a tissue (very important that you do this) and take off the mask with the magnet. If you don’t use a tissue, good luck ever getting the mask off that magnet. The mask comes off in crystal form and looks really cool. Your face feels extra smooth and soft after use. I would recommend just getting the smaller jar because it’ll still last a long time and this isn’t a mask you need to use every week.

Dr.Brandt PoreDermabrasion™ Pore Perfecting Exfoliator– Probably my favorite exfoliator of all time. I was so excited to receive this in full size in a Boxycharm a few months ago. This is a very gentle but very effective exfoliator. It will leave your skin feeling super soft and will make a perfect night time routine step (but not for every night). I highly recommend trying this out.

Forever 21 Off Shoulder Top – I didn’t know I needed an off shoulder top made of essentially sweatpant material (this is the only way I can think to describe this) until I got this off shoulder terry top from Forever 21. It is perfect for a casual day at the market but can totally be turned into something you wear for a night out as well. It’s $10, so can’t beat that and comes in many different colors. I picked one up in gray but also think the mauve would have been great.

Miscellaneous Favorites

Game Night – As many of you already know, my husband and I are subscribed to MoviePass so we see a fair amount of movies. I decided I’m going to share a favorite movie of the month on my favorites now so let me know what you think about that idea! In March, we saw Red Sparrow, Game Night, Call Me By Your Name and Black Panther. Game Night was definitely the winner for me out of those four with Black Panther coming as a close second. I definitely went into Game Night with low expectations but was pleasantly surprised at how funny it was and what a great story line it had.

Broken by Lovelytheband – A song of the month as well. This one was shown to me by my husband and is a song that you won’t get out of your head for a few days once you listen. This one is for the Indie dance lovers and has been a hit with literally every single person I’ve shared it with so let me know what you guys think if you end up checking this one out!

Chicago Trip – After finding out where my husband matched for residency, we jumped into the car and drove off to Chicago to see the green river for St.Patty’s Day. I was going to write a whole separate post on it but we really didn’t do much more than walk around the city and hang out with family so I’ll leave you guys with some pictures and a restaurant recommendation. If you’re in the Chicago area or are going in the near future and happen to be a sushi fan, you have to check out Yuzu Sushi. It’s a little off the beaten path but is so worth the trip as they create art with the sauces and have you dip your sushi into dragons, the Chicago sky line and many others. It’s a really cool experience and the sushi is seriously delicious.

That’s it for my March Favorites. Overall, it was a pretty exciting month. Please leave some questions for me for the Q&A and let me know what you thought of the favorites this month! As always, thanks for reading!
