April Favorites

Welcome back to Style As Needed. We are one step closer to summer! May is one of my favorite months as it finally gets warm, school usually lets out (with this being my first year post graduation, I’m still not quite sure how I feel about that) and the feeling of happiness generally  prevails.

Now, let’s talk about April. April is always a very busy month for me as I swear, everyone in my family has a birthday it seems like, and with work and everything else, the month flew by. I didn’t try out too many products this month, but I have some real winners to share today. So, let’s get into it…

Beauty Favorites

AG Hair Care Remedy Apple Cider Vinegar Leave on Mist – Let’s start with hair care. As a lot of you know, I got blonde balayage earlier this month so heat styling on top of my now color treated hair calls for some damage repair. I picked this leave in spray up at Ulta a few months ago and only recently started using it but I absolutely love it. I like the ease of application due to it being a leave in spray vs. a cream. There’s not a strong scent like you would expect with an apple cider vinegar product which is also a major plus. I spray this on damp hair after washing and let it sit in my hair for a little while before I blow dry. This makes your hair smoother, shinier and overall healthier looking.

Murad Acne Control Clarifying Cleanser – If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw me rave about this product a few weeks ago. I picked this cleanser up during the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty Sale and this is by far my favorite purchase of the sale. I have not had a single break out or single pimple since I’ve started using this. I don’t get breakouts that often, but they still definitely happen. This product has kept them all at bay. There’s a cooling sensation on your face once you wash it off and the gel formula is great. I have been using mine in the shower about once a day, no more. I highly recommend this stuff.

Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream – This came in a pack of Laneige products that I purchased at some point at Sephora and has recently become one of my favorite moisturizers. It is super hydrating and sinks right into your skin and there’s almost no scent, so it’s not irritating to the skin. Laneige is quickly climbing to the top of my favorite skincare brands.

Revlon Kiss Exfoliating Balm in Mint– Last in the beauty category is this exfoliating balm I picked up on a whim at Walgreens. This is an exfoliator that comes in crayon form with tiny beads – so the exfoliation isn’t quite what you would get with say a sugar exfoliator, but this still works great. I like applying right when I sit down to start my make up and letting it sit on my lips for a little while before wiping it off with a warm cloth. Your lips look great after.

Fashion Favorites

White button cami from ASOS – I am currently obsessed with camis and honestly, the obsession started with this one here. I have since picked up two other styles of camis and am definitely planning on getting more. This one is perfect for layering literally with everything and is perfect for wearing on its own. Stay tuned for a post dedicated to this current obsession in the next few days.

Miscellaneous Favorites

As I mentioned in the last month’s favorites, my husband and I have Movie Pass and see quite a few movies. This month we saw Love, Simon and A Quiet Place and I would honestly recommend both of those movies. Love, Simon is such a feel-good movie that is perfect for a day date (we followed ours up with ice cream) and A Quiet Place is definitely a more night time, weekend movie. Either way, both are great, and I would recommend checking both out.

So that’s all I have for my April Favorites. I bought a ton of stuff recently so I’m hoping May is a big month for favorites. Make sure you’re following me on Instagram @styleasneeded to get my daily updates and product reviews/opinions as I try stuff out!

As always, thanks for reading! 😊
