Coming at you with my monthly favorites a little later than usual but I literally just got back from Philadelphia hours ago, so I apologize for the delay. We had a three-day weekend visiting my sister in law and her husband in the nation’s first capital and we had an absolute blast. My weekend in Philly post will be following shortly.
But right now, let’s talk about all my favorite things in the month of May. My list was literally so long that I had to narrow it down to ten items otherwise you guys would have been reading the world’s longest favorites post. I have a good mix of make-up, skincare, and movie favorites so let’s get into it…
Skincare
Nip + Fab Kale Make Up Removing Pads – I got these in my giant Amazon beauty haul a few weeks ago and have been using them almost daily to take off my eye make-up. I plan on talking about them again when I do my full Amazon Beauty round up post but this time I’ll just say that these do a great job removing make up while being very gentle on your eyes.
Make Up
NYX Worth the Hype Mascara – I picked this up a few weeks ago and have been reaching for this mascara almost daily. This adds both length and volume and doesn’t clump at all. You also can’t beat the $8 price tag. I’m a big fan.
Sephora Single Shadows – I have been picking up Sephora single shadows recently for purposes of transition colors, etc. and keep being very impressed with the quality. They are very pigmented, don’t have fall out and are very affordable. I recommend picking a few colors up that you either don’t have in palettes already or transition colors that are good for almost any look.
Lorac Contouring Palette – I was recently gifted this by my aunt and have been using it almost daily since. The color payoff is incredible, and the texture is just so soft. I do wish there was a cooler tone contour shade in the palette but for summer, this will work great.
Pretty Vulgar Make Them Blush in “Hush Blush”– I received this blush in a Boxy Charm and omg, I am seriously obsessed. This has become one of my top 3 blushes, for sure. The color payoff is amazing, the packaging is gorgeous and the shade itself is perfect. Can’t wait to try more Pretty Vulgar products.
The Balm Mary Lou Manizer – I am aware that I am a few years late on this one but man, do I wish I discovered this earlier. This is literally the perfect natural looking highlight that adds such a subtle yet beautiful glow. I’ve used it with a brush, with a beauty blender and always have a great finish.
Dr.Jart BB Cream – I wasn’t sure whether this goes into skincare or make up since it’s basically a tinted moisturizer with a lot of coverage but decided it probably fits more under make up. I took this on a recent trip to Chicago, which, I pretty much never bring new products when I’m traveling because who knows how my skin will react, but I broke that rule this time. This BB cream is my new favorite and I am going to go out and get the full size pretty much as soon as I run out of this travel size version. This has great coverage, SPF 45, and such a nice-looking finish. The color selection majorly sucks but the light/medium shade worked well for me.
Miscellaneous
KL Polish in “Mindy” – I recently got a nail polish rack which allowed me to expand my nail polish collection by a few polishes, so I ordered a few colors I’ve been eyeing from KL Polish. Mindy, a mix between magenta and eggplant is a gorgeous color that will honestly be better for fall but nonetheless, I am glad I bought it. I love the KL Polish formula in general.
John Masters Organics Apricot and Rose Hair Mask – I got this complimentary via Preen.Me and really attribute the current softness of my hair to this mask. My hair has been recently dyed which usually leads to a straw like hair consistency but with this mask, my hair has been as soft as ever. I’m so into this stuff.
Tully – As usual, let’s talk about the movies we saw with our Movie Pass this month. We only watched three movies in May – Tully, Ready Player One and Disobedience. I give Disobedience a major thumbs down while Tully, was a winner. Ready Player One was good but too long for my liking.
See, told you guys that there were a lot of favorites this month. I hope June is as good of a month for products as May way. Let me know if you’ve tried any of these products and what your favorites were this month. As always, thank you for reading!
Great favourites post! x
