Holiday Party Lookbook

December is here which means holiday parties are about to start making their way onto our calendars. Some holiday parties have themes such as Ugly Christmas Sweater parties and so on but the ones without usually contain a lot of dresses, sparkles and champagne. If you are planning on going to a party that fits that description, here are my ideas for what to wear:

  1. Off Shoulder Sweater Dresses – 2016 has been the year of cold or off shoulder tops and this trend has continued into the fall and winter season as well. Many places have been selling off shoulder or cold shoulder sweater dresses recently and some of my favorites can be found here (bodycon style from Forever 21), here (midi version in olive from Lulu’s) or you can buy the one I’m wearing here from TjMaxx ( or find it in stores). The dress I’m wearing also comes in olive on the website and my local TjMaxx had it in black and gray as well. I recommend pairing these dresses up with over the knee boots as it really completes the look and makes it look more “dressy”.
  2. Lace Pencil Skirt – This is my favorite look of the three. I paired up a lace pencil skirt with a cropped red top and sequin leopard heels. This look has it all – sparkles, lace and red (which is clearly the main player in all holiday looks). Forever21 has quite a few lace pencil skirts to choose from right now as do many other stores. I bought mine from Shoedazzle (by the brand Just Fab) and it is still available on the website for members. My shoes are from Shoedazzle as well but unfortunately are no longer being sold. If you are still in the mood for some leopard sequin heels, Lulu’s has these.
  3. Polka Dot Mesh Overlay Skirt – This fabulous skirt (which can be found here) was my inspiration for this entire lookbook. It is very on trend with its color and the mesh overlay is super fun and great for going out looks. I paired this skirt with a black off shoulder top and plain black pumps since I wanted the skirt to be the center of attention. dsc08245-1
