Time “Faux” Fur

Fur vests made an appearance several years ago and have been continuously gaining popularity since. I remember buying my first fur vest (or should I say my “furst” vest) a few years ago and trying to figure out how to wear it. I’ve since been able to come up with several ways to style it and will be sharing them today.

Fur + Leather

One of my absolute favorite ways to wear my fur vest is with leather leggings. I have worn it in the past with black leather leggings, a black Portofino top from Express and OTK boots and that was hands down one of my favorite going out looks ever for the winter time. It kept me warm and still looked really chic. Plus, wearing a mostly black outfit always feel super sleek anyway and adding on a fur vest just makes the outfit that much better.

Fur + Prints

Wearing a fur vest on printed tops may seem like a bit much but that’s how I have been wearing mine lately. Pairing it up with a flannel or patterned tops may seem like an unlikely duo, but it actually looks pretty great if you match the colors correctly and correctly I mean avoiding really bright tones and sticking to neutrals or subtle tones. Pictured below, I paired it with a boho vibe blouse that has toned down colors that I think go great with the vest.

Fur + Red

I know I mentioned avoiding bright colors above but red is an exception. Fur vests with red tops and red dresses look amazing and are a perfect combination for going out during this time of year. Holiday parties, date night, you name it – a fur vest with a red top look great together.

Here are some of my favorite picks for fur vests right now:

Long shaggy white faux fur vest from Forever 21

Beautiful rich brown faux fur Topshop vest from Nordstrom  (similar to mine)

White faux fur short vest (also from Nordstrom)

Dark brown faux fur vest form H& M (also very similar to mine)
