There’s been a lot of beauty posts lately, with the Sephora VIB sale going on and with the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty but you know it can’t be a favorites post without some new beauty products. Today, I’ll be talking about a few make up products I’ve been loving this month, some movies, some clothes and other good stuff! So let’s jump right in!
Glossier Priming Moisturizer – I was honestly pretty surprised when I first used this product because I expected it to be this super thick cream-like moisturizer but it actually turned out to be pretty thin and almost lotion like. It reminded me a lot of the Embryolisse moisturizer I used to be obsessed with. This, unlike that moisturizer kills two birds with one stone – moisturizes and primes so it’s a perfect product for those who like to minimize their beauty routine. This does a great job priming your skin for whatever it is you want to use whether that’s foundation or tinted moisturizer. I think it’s a better product for summer months but I definitely plan on continuing to use it as it gets cold.
The BrowGal Tinted Eyebrow Gel – I’ve been using this tinted brow gel for a few months now actually and it’s been my go-to quick fix for brows on the days that I don’t feel like sitting there and taking the time to actually do my brows. This has a super precise spooley that is tapered at the end for a more precise application. I use this in the color “Brown Hair 02”
So Natural All Day Glow Make Up Setting Fixx – I recently picked up at the new Riley Rose store at Kenwood Mall and I am not kidding, this is the best make up setting spray I’ve ever used. I didn’t think anything would beat out my Morphe Setting Spray but this has everything I love in the Morphe spray plus a more flawless finish. The mist itself on this is perfect and the spray just melts your make up into your skin and locks it in. This stuff is seriously amazing.
OleHenriksen Glow Cycle Retin-ALT Power Serum – I got this serum sent to me from Influenster and I am seriously in love with it. This adds glow to your skin on top of the always sought after anti-aging and anti-wrinkle benefits. It comes out a pretty lavender color and blends right in. I am really impressed with this stuff.
Crown Vintage Flats – I picked these up because of all the advertising around how comfortable these are and since I stand on my feet all day at work, I’m all about comfortable. These flats also have some extra padding inside for those who like me, put a lot of pressure on their feet and need some extra support. I got these in a light metallic gray color but they also come in red, black, navy and nude.
Tees from H&M – During my most recent mall trip, I stopped into H&M which has replaced Forever 21 as my basics destination. I have been picking up all my basic v-necks and tees from H&M recently and picked up this polka dot cotton tee as well. The polka dot top is gone but they have many other styles. This top is perfect for work and for layering cardigans in the fall. Highly recommend picking some of these tees up.
As always, the Movie Pass round up for August. We saw three movies including Crazy Rich Asians, Blackkklansman and Spy Who Dumped Me and I honestly liked every single one (but for very different reasons). This month will be lighter on movies for sure since we are going to be out of town for majority of September but we do plan on seeing Peppermint this weekend!
What Alice Forgot – A book favorite this month. My fellow lovers of Lianne Moriarty’s work will agree that she can do no wrong. What Alice Forgot is by no means a new release but I only just read it and this book made me love the author even more. If you’re looking for a book that you won’t be able to put down, this is it. This has a mix of a thriller (in the sense of trying to figure out what happened), comedy, and will just overall make you think about your own life. It’s so good.
Well, better late than never, right? Sorry that these favorites are up so late in the month! My husband and I met up with some friends in DC for Labor Day weekend so between work and travel, the blog had to take a backseat unfortunately! I’ll be pre-writing some posts for while we are out of town later this month so don’t worry, content is definitely coming!
