Hello, my friends! I am back in the country and three days in work-wise so definitely out of vacation mode. I do however, leave again in a few days to somewhere very, very special so my days are absolutely packed right now with errands that need to get done before I leave. Our luggage unfortunately got lost and we still haven’t gotten it back which adds on some more stress onto the whole, about to leave again situation.
As a lot of you know, my husband and I went on a trip to France to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary. We were gone for 2 weeks and visited 8 different cities in that wonderful country. We had an amazing time and would recommend France to anyone. I will talk more about our experience in the travel guides that will come up for each place but for now I’ll just leave it at “we had an amazing time”. If you missed my Paris OOTD post, you can find it here. I showed off my three outfits for Paris at the beginning of our trip.
While I definitely wasn’t trying a whole lot of new make up products because I was traveling, I did end up with a few make up favorites last month. I also ended up having to buy something warm in France due to not packing appropriately for the weather of the Normandy capital, Rouen, and that piece ended up being a gem. So, let’s jump right in!
Beauty Favorites
Ole Henriksen Glow Cycle Serum – Yes, I know this was on the favorites list last month but guys, I can’t get enough of this stuff. My face looks sooo radiant once I apply this and it lasts throughout the day. I am still majorly loving this stuff and will definitely be re-purchasing once I run out.
Korres Greek Yogurt Foaming Cleanser – I took this with me to France and was pleasantly surprised. I usually don’t take new things with me in case of a reaction but I made an exception for a few things (and this and one other really paid off). This cleanser is literally amazing for three reasons: 1)it smells divine 2) it is super gentle and 3)it does an amazing job cleaning your face. Highly recommend finding this at your local Sephora. The nice thing too is that it comes in a travel size if you don’t want to commit right away!
Origins GinZing Exfoliating Scrub – Might be my new favorite scrub of all time. It is super gentle yet you can tell it’s doing a great job exfoliating and it literally smells like citrus heaven, so I am going to be picking this up in full size once I run out of this travel size version. I picked up a Ginzing line sampler to try out and have loved a few of the products. Great job with this one, Origins.
Atelier Cologne “Clementine California” – In case you’re not sensing a trend, I like citrus scents. I pick a new perfume for each trip and this was my France trip perfume. You know how they say memory is associated with scents? Well, this one is bringing back a whole lot of great memories already and is the most delicious scent. Those who like fresh scents and like the smell of clementines, you’ll love this perfume. Also, I pretty much only do roller ball and travel versions of perfumes because then I don’t feel bad about having a lot of them 🙂
Fashion Favorites
As I mentioned earlier, Normandy was very chilly. So chilly that my warmest sweater wasn’t able to provide nearly an adequate amount of heat and lead me to do some shopping. I know, what a hard life. I hate shopping. Can’t believe I had to do it in essentially the fashion capital of the world 😊 Anyway, I was very excited to go around the shops in Rouen and stumbled upon Pimkie, which is a pretty well known brand but is not available anywhere around me in the US so I went in and voila – walked out with a hybrid between a coat and a sweater that was so warm, so soft and so cute that I knew I would be spending a lot of time in it the entire fall/winter season. You can find it on their website here for a better look.
Anyway, that’s all I have for you guys for this month’s favorites! I know it was not too long of a list but sometimes, that’s better, right? Keep an eye out on city guides for France – they’ll be rolling out over the next few months!
As always, thanks for reading!
